Default 2008 isf diff upgrade from an is350 diff?

I found a cheap isf diff for sale but its from an 08’
is this an upgrade or a waste of money?

Agreed, and here's why. It is still an open diff AND you'd be downgrading the final drive rear gear to a lower ratio netting slightly slower acceleration.

Yes that would be a downgrade in performance. It is the IS-F owners that want IS350 rear diff gear because it is more aggressive making their cars go quicker. So it's an upgrade for them, but downgrade for us (IS350 owners).

The only reason to take one would be for the added cooling fins if you track the car. Still not worth it IMO.
Plus you need to swap your gears into it and If going to that much work, throw in the LSD of your choice knowing the innards will need ground out to make the ring gear carrier (center section) fit as LSDs require more room with the clutch packs / worm gears if OEM.
