Default AFS Headlight replacement options

So after my long quest to replace build and a driver side headlight level sensor on my 2008 IS350 with AFS and HID, the driver side light is off. With a new bulb, it's not aiming forward and while the AFS is working the projector part seems loose with something possibly broken internally. My mechanic looked at it and said it seems the driver side headlight assembly may need replacement and OEM is around $1800 installed for one. What other options are there for HID and AFS? Looking at Rock Auto there's a TYC set of headlights for $858. I'd be okay losing the AFS and just having functional headlights if that's an option.

https://www.car-part.com/

Use the drop-down menus to pick your car/zip code and then the headlight type.

Prices have definitely increased. But I couldn't stand sanding and buffing my OE headlights every 4-6 months; so I went with replacement TYCs WITH AFS. Never had any issues! Love the fact that even after 2+ yrs, that the lenses are still crystal clear (garage parked).

Well, it turned out to be much more interesting. My mechanic found the AFS not working properly on the driver side headlight but didn't get any codes. Removing the bumper, he found the car had been hit on that corner some time in the past and the repairs weren't done completely. The brackets holding the headlight were broken and the light aim was mostly held in place, so the AFS has never worked correctly since I've owned it. It took some work at a body shop to make things right, then a new headlight and all put back together to get things correct. It will be fun to drive this weekend and see how the AFS lights are truly supposed to behave.

Hi! I can't believe I found this thread and that it's relatively recent!

I'm looking to replace my 060 rx330s headlight assembly since they are yellow + condensation. All the TYCs ones I looked at didn't specify if they had AFS. Could you send me a link of where you ended up getting yours? TIA

Could you possibly share model numbers? Not sure what will work, but I'm trying to figure out replacement options for my 2007 IS350 HIDs. Hoping to find LED with AFS but not sure if that exists?
