Default CD player sticking

I Lent my girlfriend my car last night to visit a girlfriend
Now my cd player makes whirring noises and refuse to play/eject any disc.

Of course she has no idea what happened and never touched the cd player

Any help with this?

I had CDRs in there but none of them have stickers on them.
Just regular memorex cdr's that i've been using for 4-5 years in other cars.

So in 1 and a half week of ownership

1) 1 Blown speaker
2) 1 Ruined CD player

I'm off to a great start.

I've had this happen to me a couple of times. I play store-bought pressed CD's and burned CD-R's and usually have no problems.

However, when it happens, it happens while trying to eject a disk, it opens the little door but the CD doesn't slide out....and the CD player gets mad at me...gives me an error.

I've found that I can reach in (carefully) with a pair of tweezers, grab the CD and start pulling it out. Both times, once I got it started coming out, the CD player motor pushes it the rest of the way out and all is well again with the world.

I've had the car about a year and this has happened a grand total of 2 times. The CD changer isn't perfect but, this finickyness seems like a small price to pay to not have the changer in the trunk.

Hope this helps.

This too happened to me twice. My girlfriend jammed it as well. The darn CD player was trying to eject and she shoved in a new cd.

Default I fixed it...

After sitting down and pushing the eject button( the cd door was closed) a million times....I had an awakening. It's almost like me and the car became one. I could feel the cd - player and knew exactly how to remedy this situation....

I slapped the side of the dash and it popped out.

First rule of auto repair - When in doubt, hit it with a big hammer! Even if it doesn't fix the problem, YOU'LL feel better!

And the same for me on my 2002. Last year I had to change the head unit since one CD was totally stuck. And now this spring everything went silent, no CD visible in the slot, just the unit thinking and every time stopping at the dreaded "Error 3".

A lovingly brisk slap on the right side of the console solved the situation

Thread from the Dead lol.

Funny thing is I was looking at this thread on the weekend because I had the same problem, and hitting it worked for me also.

I burn a lot of CD's which I play in the ML system and sometimes this happens:

- After pressing the EJECT button, the CD will get stuck trying to come out of the CD player housing

- You can grab it using your fingers cause the CD is not over the edge of the housing to grab it.

- Therefore, I use a credit card and use the slide and under and up method

Again, that's -->

- Slide credit card under the CD
- Push gently up and up

This should make the CD pop all the way out.
