im trying to swap off tires from my wheels to another set of factory 18" lexus wheels. can i have tire shop just swap over the set of tpms in my wheels to new set? also, in doing so, would a rebuild kit be necessary?

Yes, and most tire places recommend a rebuild kit every time you replace the tires.

done and swapped. didnt do the rebuild kit either. no warning lights or anything for now so hopefully no leaks either. appreciate the replies.

since this thread is made my work emotions doesnt have a hole for the tpms pretty sure i cant run it right ? unless i drill a new hole and so ?

did they have to remove the tires to remove the tpms on the original set of rims to transfer? did they charge you extra?

Yes, tires had to be removed. Cost depends where you go I guess. I called around a few places in my area and got this done for $100. That was the cheapest I found.
