Thumbs down Oil Leak (pics) Help!

I just purchased an '06 IS350 w/ 65k miles and during my first oil change I noticed a pretty significant oil leak
The leak is located on the passanger side next to the exhaust manifold. It looks like it is coming from a bolt that connects a pipe to the engine block. Has anyone scene this before and knows what I need to get in order to fix it myself? Any advice is appreciated. I hope this is a fairly easy fix! I never thought I would find such a significant leak with the miles the car has. Thanks for helping...

I'd start checking the obvious. Possible valve cover gasket?

It is not the valce cover gasket as there is no oil above that "bolt" Any idea of what that bolt is and what it does? Is this a common leak area on the car?

It maybe the timing chain cover. Others have had this problem and its not an easy fix. There is a thread about it on here. If you are lucky it maybe an inspection cover or the oil cooler bolt you have pictured.

Yes, you might have a timing chain cover leak which is very very expensive to fix. Could you take more pictures from the front of the engine (focusing more to the left of the water pump). I have the Timing Chain cover leak but very very small amount of oil coming out so i am ignoring it for now. Btw, my car is 2006 with over 126k now.

No the leak is coming from the bolt. It is a banjo bolt. Like you see on brake caliper lines sometimes. At least that is what it looks like from the picture. Although I don't remember what it would go to (topside). Ill take a look at mine tonight. Either way you can buy replacement crush (usually copper) washers for the fitting. You would just need to know the torque spec for that bolt when reassembling. Its not your valve cover gasket tho.

I've seen this same leak before on CL here. If I remember right, it was a simple gasket or O-ring for the oil level sender sensor. Yeah, not a timing cover or valve cover leak.

Is this something that Lexus parts would be able to tell me?

So that bolt is connecting the oil level sender? Good to know for when I go to Lexus parts. Thanks!
Hopefully this will fix the leak and it is not the timing cover.

It's 2 crush washers to a oil supply lime to the cams and upper engine. Your engine should have one on each side and 2 crush washers for each.

I also have a 2006 IS350 with the same oil leak noted and shown to me on my last oil change. I have 108k miles on my car and I hope my issue is the banjo bolt and not the timing cover. My car is out of the warranty and I do not have $3000 to pay a Lexus dealership to fix if it is the timing cover. I will have to get the dye test done on a weekend being I work full time and in College also so no time durning the week.
