Default Oil leak problem

I did a search but couldn't find anything about this issue, so I am hoping some members can help me out. I have had a slow oil leak coming from the front, passenger side of the engine underneath. I got under the vehicle and wiped the area clean, then put some oil dye in the crankcase. I drove it around a bit, and put it back on my car ramps with the car running. It is such a slow leak, that I couldn't see any of the dye yet under the UV light. I did see a little bit of oil that appeared to be seeping slowly through the banjo bolt in the picture. I sent the picture to my friend who works in the parts department at the Lexus dealership I go to. He showed it to a tech who says he thinks the leak is coming from the timing cover gasket and not the bolt and washer. Has anyone else had any problems with oil leaking from this area of the engine. I have been told that the 350's are known to leak from the timing cover, but I really don't think that's where it's coming from. The picture shows some buildup around the bolt near the timing cover, but I believe that was blown back by the fans when they are on. Anyone have any input?

From the first pic, the leak appears to be centered around the banjo fitting. I'm sure it has at least a couple of washers/gaskets (one for each side). I would replace them first and see if the leak continues.

Yeah it has 2 washers that are connected by that piece that you can see at the bottom of the banjo fitting. I got a new one and tomorrow will try to replace it and hopefully it fixes my problem.

it looks like a front timing cover oil leaked. Double check with the dealer. If it is.. is like a $1500-3k fixed depending on whos doing the job. The parts itself is cheap but the labor is the expensive part. 15hrs when they did mine. Good thing I was under warranty. Good luck

I'm hoping the problem is not the timing cover, although I understand it's a common problem for the 06 models which is what I have. I was going to replace the washers tomorrow on that banjo bolt in the pic, but I couldn't wait and did it tonight. I drove around for about 10 miles and checked for any seepage and so far so good. I'll give it a couple days and if I don't see any oil build up, then I will be one happy camper!

Thanks for the link to the other thread. My car doesn't fall under the TSB for this problem, so if it is leaking from the timing cover I guess I'm on my own in covering the cost if I really want it to not leak. We'll see in a couple days if the new washers solved the problem, or if I am just as unlucky as many other owners with this problem.

Cross fingers for a simple double washer replacement. Make sure to torque to factory specs. If not that, then it could very well be the front timing cover leak.

I'm crossing my fingers that my problem is the same. I replaced it last night, and so far so good, but it was a slow l leak to begin with so I need to give it more time to be more confident that it's fixed.

And, AZ06IS350, we have been waiting for 7 years, did the new double washers on the banjo bolt fix the oil leak?

Adding to this; it is a leak that happens and is fixed by replacing the washers.

This is just me so do so at your own risk but I would clean the area, crack the bolt loose and retighten it. Chances are the seeping stops.

Dealership:
90430-16016 Qty 2
90430-16012 Qty 4

That will do both pipes. I just bought all these for maybe $15.
