Exclamation 2006 IS250 Wont start:( Help please:/

I have a 2006 Is250 awd and my wife and I are on trip in MT right now.

I went out to start it yesterday and it powers up, dash lights all good, no warnings, and it turns over, but won't start.

I checked fuses, I can hear the fuel pump start up, i sprayed carb cleaner in the intake behind the mass air flow sensor and It doesn't fire. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, and am just out of Ideas.

any body else have an idea? thank you so much!

If its really cold and it's an old battery, that might have something to do with it too.

Cold kills batteries faster

the battery is new, and I have charged it, it turns over fast but there seems to be no ignition, I sprayed carb cleaner into the carb housing and tried it, and it didn't fire so i am thinking it has to be something with the ignition?

I kid...but would be funny if you were

If the engine is cranking, then your battery and starter are fine. The next would be to check spark and fuel pressure. Do you have a digital multi-meter? You can also check some really dumb stuff too like making sure the intake is not blocked or the exhaust is not blocked...

Default I figured it out!

Towed it to a toyota dealership and it was throwing all kinds of codes, turns out it had extremely low compression in 3 cylinders, like 50 psi.

I guess its the common carbon build up thing that the is250's have, it was running rough before that. and I guess lexus often covers the engine rebuild cost, and extended their warranty for this specific problem to 9 years and unlimited miles.

they are calling the Lexus dealership in the morning and asking them about it, I am hoping and praying that Lexus will cover it because I do not have 7 grand to pay for a rebuilt motor

so anyways, thats the scoop right now, I have 140,000 miles on it, but have always ran premium fuel and top of the line oil through it.

so I hope I can get the csp deal on it!

any body else have any experience with this? thanx!!

Default Comon issue, but lexus is slow to help

Ya I have contacted lexus corporate and they are very slow to help and were skeptical that there was anything they could do.

however I contacted a lexus dealership and they were way way more helpful and told me if I can get them the P-codes that they should definitely be able to help me and get it done for free.

So now I am trying to get the toyota dealership to give me the P-codes, which they are horrible to work with, because they care very little about anyone that isn't buying a car from them

you might need to bring the car back to a Lexus dealer to take care of....not sure if they also covered the trip interruption tho.....

good luck and keep us posted

Default Thank you guys!

after contacting lexus corporate and getting no where and them telling me they could not do much, I contacted the nearest Lexus dealership, "5 hours away" and they were so nice!!

very understanding and they quickly did research and figured out that yes they could definitely fix my car and Bill lexus for it!! wow, was so good to talk to someone that didn't shut me down and ignore me. So I am taking it over there in the morning, sure I will have spent a few hundred dollars out of pocket, but it pales in comparison to being saved 7,000 dollars in a rebuild! lol
