Default Navigation screen black! Help!!!!

Hey guys, my navigation screen just died out on me... I have no idea what happened.
I've searched around and only 1 person experienced this problem and it fixed by itself.
The radio and clock both work but the navigation and all the buttons on the unit doesn't work..
It worked before but it was strange, it kept showing this power consumption screen and had vertical lines moving across.
My A/C is blasting and I cant turn it off! ITS COLD AS *****.

If you guys have any ideas it would help!

Thanks!

Someone said it might be the battery or alternator but my battery is fine, I don't know how to check my alternator..

So just to confirm, the side "manual" buttons AND the bottom buttons do NOT work along with the touchscreen? Hmmmmm, very odd indeed.

My first thought is checking for a fuse, since the ENTIRE NAV unit isn't working. Remember, a fuse might not look blown but still might be bad. If the fuse(s) check out, then I'd do a hard-reboot of the entire car. Disconnect the battery for 20 minutes, then reconnect.

GL!

Well it started up just barely on my way home, then the screen went white and it froze. I replaced the battery this morning as well..

You should check your battery and alternator. When you saw "power consumption" that mean your alternator is being bad.

I just had this same issue happen on my NAV ... Screen is off and touch buttons around it are off, won't come on. I can still use radio / AUX buttons but can't change stations or anything. To make it worse, I have the heater on and can't shut it off. The NAV just "died" last night, really hoping it's just a fuse, going to take a look at it today.

*** Update ***

Took it to my mechanic, he checked the fuses and BOOM, came back on. Must have been a loose fuse

Very interesting! I'll PM you for more details about this, but I had the EXACT SAME issues as you had earlier described, including the power comsumption screen. I only started having this issue when the battery in my car came near end of life; still had 385 CCAs though, but I replaced the battery with a new one and still have NO NAV.

Where'd you do to have the charging system checked out?

have you sent out your Navigation yet ?
maybe like the OP, it's our alternator that needs to be looked at ?

Luckily I have not! That's what I'm thinking; I've got my feelers out to a local Lexus salvage yard for an alternator now. Waiting on the call back.

To everyone that is curious what the "power consumption" screen is...here they are :
