hi guys I had to replace my steering rack today and everything went well except when i turned the car on the airbag light is on and i got no horn and the power steering controls are dead. I have checked all fuses driver side passenger side and under the hood and they all good. Any ideas?

 

Did you try disconnecting the battery? Not probably gonna fix it but worth trying. I'm trying to think what the PS rack would have to do with the airbag and horn, kind of an odd thing.

 

First there is a factory recall on the rack, you should have have takin it in to the dealer and they would have replaced it for free and you'd get a full tank of gas. As for your problem now what electronics did you disconnect?

 

actually mine didnt fall on the recall since it has the updated version ps and i didnt disconnect anything except the two switches on the rack itself but i did turn on the ignition on to get the steering wheel to line up. do you guys think the airbag light has anything to with the horn? the radio controls and lighting on the steering wheel are dead as well but the turn signals works

Did u calibrate the steering rack? It's an electronic not hydraulic rack

 

Time to tow... Has to be hooked up and have things calibrated and re-initialized

 

I replaced and after trying to calibrate its saying communication error
