After Rack Replacement, any reason for Airbag Light to be on?
Hi,
I just had my rack and pinion replaced today, when I got the car back, the airbag light was on. They will have to fix it, but i would like to have an idea what caused it so I can be somewhat involved in the diagnosis and repair. I don't want the airbag code/error to be cleared and there still be a problem with it and find out at an inopportune time that is is not working properly.
When replacing the rack and pinion, what could cause the airbag light to remain on?
EDIT: IT IS LIKELY THE CLOCK SPRING, SEE OTHER POST HERE.
Thank You
SG

The only thing I can think of would be if the wheel was moved while the rack was out. Since the steering column is disconnected from the rack, its possible it was not directly lined up when installing the new rack.
