So the Lexus survey is how they determine whether or not you get the $500?

You cannot transfer the $1500 certificate because it has your name and address on it. However, you can use it with a spouse or children who reside in your household....which basically means you.

In this economy and no new IS on the roadmap for the next year and most of us have perfectly good cars under 100k miles, I would be surprised if the take rate on those certificates are more than 10%.

No, I believe they are separate. You will probably get the $500 before the survey. I can't say for sure but your survey answers might lead to $500. Personally I'd hate to complain on my survey if it hurts the dealership; however, we'll see. If the dealership does a good job, I'm not going to rate them low just because I have an issue with Lexus corporate.

How long did it take for them to do the repairs?

^ Well then how do they determine who gets the $500? A lot of conflicting information in this thread - we need to take a scientific approach!

I got the recall work done 2+ weeks ago, still nothing for me.

3 chains actually, which should never need to be replaced.

Which I explained in the post immediately following the original question, 3 pages ago in the thread

Hey guys, I checked my car ('08 IS250) if it needed this work done on the Lexus Drivers' website by putting in my VIN etc, and it came up that I didn't need to do this recall. However, when my car is in idle, it almost has this ticking sound... not that audible, but annoying enough for me to notice. As soon as I start driving, the sound goes away. Do you guys think it's one of the symptoms of valve springs wearing out?

That makes sense, because with the hood popped it sounds like it's coming right from injectors. I test drove a couple more IS250s before I bought one and just didn't remember the sound. Thanks though!

My red recall letter mentioned nothing about a $1500 certificate or a $500 gift card. I scheduled my appointment and was told I'd basically be given a free full-tank of gas :/

Been waiting over a month now for that dame card. Talked to Lexus Corp. today and she said they are going to be mailing them all out this month for those yet to get the $500 Visa.

I bet the take up rate on those $1500 certificates is 1-3%, maybe less. It's a neglible cost per vehicle recalled, <$50.
