Default bought car didnt get title.

hey guys i bought my car from this dealer http://www.thriftautosales.com/
on nov 19 2009 but didnt get the title the dealer told me they would mail it to me after my cheque was cleared which was 2 days after, now i just contact the dealer and he said they are going to mail the title 7 days before my temp plates expire, any reason y they would take so long? another thing is the car was a 1 owner lease, and he did mention something about dmv already knows about the title processing.

is the car paid in full? If so, u should be getting a title for it. If you got a bank loan, the title will be sent to the bank until payoff to the bank is done.

yea im a dealer and sometimes this stuff happens. Sometimes the title department takes about 3-4 weeks to get a title mailed off. Nothing to be worried about. If its get too long i would start to worry though.

I'm not sure if it varies from state to state, but here in NJ I've always received the title when I went back to the dealer to pick up my license plates. I believe the dealer gets the title when they do the paperwork at the DMV.
