Default 2007 Is350 Ecu Tsb???

Anyone knows more about this?

SS002-07 TECHSTREAM ECU FLASH REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE
2001 – 2008 model year applicable Lexus vehicles.

Flash reprogramming allows the ECU software to be updated without replacing the ECU. Flash calibration updates for specific vehicle models/ECUs are released
as field–fix procedures described in individual service bulletins. This bulletin details the Techstream ECU flash reprogramming process and outlines use of the Technical Information System (TIS) and the Calibration Update Wizard (CUW).

Flash calibration updates can only be applied to the vehicle/ECU combination for which they are intended. ECUs have internal security that will not allow them to be programmed with another ECU’s information.

NOTE: Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is a Lexus term used to describe integrated computerized devices responsible for managing the operation of a system or
subsystem. For the purposes of this bulletin, the term “ECU” is used as a generic label for the following SAE J1930 standard references:

 Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
 Engine Control Module (ECM)
 Transmission Control Module (TCM)
Or any other Lexus specific control unit

Wish there was a TSB that would flash my 2006 ECU to a 2007 ECU - then I could install the 2007 traction control switch and get it to turn totally off.

Acutally, you don't need to flash anything - you just need to install the 2007 skid control ECU in your 2006 and it will work.

No problem..........and the price of that ECU is..........two thousand and whaaaat? Just so you can slide around the corner? Not a very sound investment to this retired banker...

No, not even close to $2k. Retail is $1449. Junkyard is half that. There are guys paying that much for an exhaust system.

Only a fool would invest in a car unless it's an exotic.

Why is spending a few hundred on an exhaust any worse than spending a few hundred on the ability to turn off traction control a little easier (switch instead of pedal dance)?

And the flash would be free under a TSB. Which is what I was stating and wishing for...

There's no indication the Skid Control ECU can be flashed in the service manual. It's a remove and replace item.
