[QUOTE=sjava]Premium PKG with 18" for 36k is freakin steal for IS350.[QUOTE]

Where are you getting the 36K number from? The base 350 is 35440 and the premium pkg adds 1200+ in addition to destination at 500+ which put the car at hig 37's. Add TTL and you are a blip below 40K.

According to the Lexus website, 350+pp+18" = 36030+1290+720=$38040. still not bad.

$800 inspections? I think someone makde that up. Lexus, I assume like every other car I've ever owned, has routine maintenance at scheduled intervals, 5k, 15k, 30k, 60k etc... What is done at each interval depends on the car. Usually sutff like coolant flushes, etc... Lots of it you can do yourself, but still, every car I've owned new or near new cost ~$1500-3000 over the first 4 years of maintenence, and that was doing a lot of the stuff myself. I'm sure previous Lexus owners can chime in on this one.

That's what makes it a hassle. Spending Extra $5.000 every 3 years on a machine that is priced over $40.000 already.

If you go by Lexus book recomendations the service interval is every 5K miles. My dealership service manager said he too thinks it is overkill, but in his opinion, he told me Lexus does this because they know many people don't come in every 5K miles so when they do come in it probably is about the right time. So, if you go by book and take it in every 5K miles, it generally cost you an average of about $100, but the larger 15/30/45/60 and such can cost a few hunder more. Most of the time it is just an oil change and inspection/top off of any fluids. If that is the case it still cost about $75 or so. Since I only have 7K miles to the end of my warranty I just buy the filter and washer from my dealer for $6 and buy synthetic oil at Walmart or K-Mart for $22 and call it the day. I still plan on taking it in for the larger 30/60K services though.

Ah, gotchya - works differently than both my cars, but overall the result is similar. Either way, I only brought up the maintenance because people often forget to factor that into the price of BMW's.

I'm not sure where you're getting your sheet from, but according to the Lexus site, IS350 with Premium +18's is $38,040.

IS350: $36,030
Premium Package: $1,290
18" Wheels: $720

Total: $38,040

Guys - I think Lexus.com is a little misleading right now (not intentionally), but it seems like packages are setup/priced differently depending on your region (if you use the builder - the link jrock linked seems solid). Example, in Miami the only option is 18 inch wheels for $820, that's it. In Upstate NY you have the option for premium+extra for $6545 or premium+extra+ML for $1115 more.

So make sure when comparing that the packages you're looking at include the same options.

Cheers.

That's what I don't like about the "build your lexus" site.

Why can't Lexus just give you all the options and then say print it and say now go to your dealer to determine if these options are available at day one. Instead of limiting us to what options we can build your lexus.

I want to know what it will cost me with all the options I want (whether they are available day one or not) but according to my zip code I can't do that.

In an ideal world YES. But the dealerships pretty much have their hands tied wrt what corp decides to build. It would be great to have every option on the Build You Own page available. Then you could actually build your own, print it, take it to the dealership and order it. This whole options debacle has really soured my Lexus experience.

2 pages back there is pricing from Lexus option sheet, saying how premium package for IS350 comes w/ 18" for that price... I also think someone else that works at the dealer quoted similar price somewhere... can someone shed some light here?

Is that w/ ML ? From what i've been reading at CL, there aren't any 250's w/ ML in the west coast. So for Navi w/ ML and Lux package, this puts the 250 well over 40k. Pretty dam pricey imo. Hopefully demand will dwindle soon
