Default Headlight Problem

I noticed on my 01 IS300 when I was washing my car that my headlights looks to have some kind of haziness to the inside of the lights. Has anyone else has this problem with theirs?? I don't think the dealer will cover anything since I have 51k on the car.

well it's worth a try, sometimes if the dealership is good they do it under good will.

i think probably some moisture or so got it before, after drying it starts to get blur

Condensation problems are becoming more and more common on '01 IS300s. Since you are over 50K miles Lexus dosen't have to replace the lights. Its worth a shot to try though, if you need new ones I can get them wholesale for you with my Lexus account.

How much are we talking about??? With all of the problems I'm having with my 06GS with the tint, and the clear bra fiasco, I don't think they want to do anything for me in good faith.

Good advise but I think he is referring to a condensation haziness inside the light rather than a sundamaged haziness on the outside of the lens.

yeah, but how are you able to tell where the haziness comes from? mine looked like it was from the inside too and i got a friend to watersand it and now it is crystal clear. it's always good to try the easy way then the hard.

Looks like the haziness is in the inside of the light.

try the easy way then the hard. watersand the outside... if it doesn't clear ur headlight then the inside. it's not gonna hurt your headlight or anything... u know. but according to my experience it is the outside. cuz think of it no air goes in the inside and also it is always hot in there so no way the headlight will ever change from the inside.

Moisture. The seals go bad and moisture enteres the light. Its actually a fairly common problem. The really bad part about it is that if you let the moisture staly in the light it will drip down into the ballast cavity and short the HID computer out which costs $800+ by itself from Lexus.
