Have you ever noted the Trip Results on the instrument screen when you shut the car off? It is displayed for about a minute.
See Post 72.

Even if your cumulative MPG is relatively low, the trip MPG is encouraging. Our 500h has been as high as 38 MPG on an around-town trip. That is with a cumulative reading of 27 MPG.

...Except the title of the post was MPH, not MPG. LOL

Just teasing, we keep the same records as @OLDude500 .

I get 28-32 MPG from my 2008 RX400H ('standard UK' 95 octane petrol).

Why has the MPG decreased for the newer models? I'd have expected it to have increased due to better hybrid systems/batteries.

The 500H is a performance hybrid, not really designed for MPG. If you want to compare the 2008 RX400h to anything you should compare it to the RX350H.

I'm curious what everybody else's miles per gallon are on their onboard computer display in the Dash. Of the Lexus RX 500h.
I'm only getting about 22.6 miles per gallon. Per the onboard Dash computer.
Granted, my driving may be a little odd. I only drive 50 to 60 miles per week. And. Speed is under 35 mph, going to the the golf course.

I just completed a 1700-mile round trip to Houston in my RX500h and cleared all mileage logs upon commencing my journey. My driving was primarily (90%) interstate where I cruised between 80-92 mph. The car was set on ECO mode and I used adaptive cruise wherever possible. Ambient air temp was between 80 and 105 degrees so the A/C was cranking 100% of the time. My odometer reading when I left was 5687 miles so the vehicle is definitely 'broke-in'. I changed to Mobil1 oil at 1000 miles.

The final mileage reading, per the onboard computer, was 24.7 mpg.

I got my 500h three weeks ago and have 500 miles on it so far. Per the computer the first tank of gas came in at 26.1 mpg and the second tank is sitting at 26.6 at 3/4 tank. I used the update button on history after the first fill up so I can track the mpg per tank. This was mostly local driving with a few highway trips mixed in. So far I am very happy with the results compared to my previous MDX which would get around 20-22mpg with this type of driving. I got some longer drives coming up with the holiday weekend so I will see how it does with more highway time.

Update: Completed short highway trip (about 115 mile each way - some traffic on the way back) with about 30 miles of local driving at the destination. Computer read 30.9mpg for the trip. Very happy with those results with only 800 miles on the car.

Hi there! I have 1,068 miles on my RX500h. I keep a fuel log since I purchased the vehicle. These are real world figures to me. The July 27th figures were basically all highway miles from San Antonio to Austin to Katy.

I'm 2 months in and have put 1800 miles on the car. I too keep a spreadsheet to log all of my fill ups and actual gas mileage. I'm averaging 27.53 mpg. (The car says 27.1-27.3 mpg). I drive conservatively and only punch it if I really need to. Also, for the first 1000 miles, i never took the car above 70 mph (mostly maxed out at 65). I also find I get very good mileage (30-32 mpg according to the display during shutoff) when using adaptive cruise control.

On a side note, I've found that driving 75mph is just as efficient (mpg) as driving 65 mph. On my last car (Toyota Venza XLE V6 FWD), that difference in speed took me from 26 mpg to 21 mpg.
