Our '23 500h has achieved 29MPG + over the past 3 tanks. Suburban driving, no stop 'n' go.
Really happy to hear this! Wasn't too concerned with MPG, but curious about your driving range on a tank? Have a 2025 on 'order' but have an expectation of roughly 400mile-ish range. Could do the math, but more curious what the electronics spit out. Thanks in advance

The electronics are way too conversative. I have a 23 RX500H and my typical per tank MPG runs between 26-30MPG. The lower end happens with mostly local in town only driving (short trips 10min or less). When trips are typically longer (doesn't matter much between highway or city) the MPG will be on the higher end. That said the electronics usually say the tank is empty way to early (usually after 300-350 miles and only needs 11-12 gallons of gas to fill) when it should be more around 350-400 miles (with 13-15 gallons). At this point I just ignore the car gauges and use the trip odometer and the MPG which I reset on each fill up.

In that case you will be a bit disappointed, unless they change something in the 2025.
Because of the, ample 'reserve' (supposedly to protect the hybrid systems), and my wife's anxiety about running out of fuel based on the instrument cluster's gasoline gauge, we usually see about 300 - 340 miles on a tank. Gauge usually has one 'segment' (of eight) of fuel indicated at a typical fill up, which is ~ 9 - 12 gallons out of the 17.5 US gallon advertised capacity.
That is OK with us though, as our previous Honda CR-V only got 250 - 310 miles between fill-ups on its small tank.
++++++++++++
BTW, after 12K miles, our engine is continuing to break in...last month's MPG has been 32 - 33 MPG. Granted, air conditioning use during that time has been less, due to moderating temperatures.

Thanks guys, that still sounds positive to me, and all makes sense. It does seem that things are on the conservative side, and I personally never do fuel ups when the fuel light comes on anyways. The RX500H on the way (most likely in Jan 2025) just sounds really similar to the 2.0T Accord that I have too on these regards so I'm not disappointed at all. I already knew that the RX500H could no way match the NX350H that we have too for mpg/range, but the RX will be the 'road trip' and fun-ish vehicle, at least for me . I'm still impressed by everything that I test drove back in July so will patiently wait!
Does anyone have info on real world fuel economy yet for the 500h?
Thanks
m Ben driving rx500 h for almost one year. Made less than 6k miles. Fuel economy is as promised by factory. Between 27 an 28 mpg. Driving everyday to work, 11 miles one way, on mostly crowded Highway, so often electric motors kick on and engine goes off.
It just so strange, there not even TSB other then the transaxle TSB for shudder/vibration. It like Lexus isn't even knowledge it. Yet Tacoma has open recall about it and GH has same symptoms along with TX which don't have TSB.
Maybe it just others being more sensitive to others, because I can tell you at very low speeds I sometimes get shutter on RX350 ICE. I think I just want it! I get bored easy..
So far I'm fairly happy with the 500H's mpg, especially with it not even broken in and it's using winter blend gas and it's 50F out. Got 24.6 mpg according to computer for this common trip I usually take. The adaptive suspension is no joke where it feels firmly planted on this stretch of road & curve where the Accord and NX would be bouncing up and down at the same speed. It's about 1322 lbs heavier than the 2.0T Accord we got and it's getting better mpgs which is great. Obviously not as good as our NX350H though, but this 500H is the fun one for me. Been playing around normal vs eco mode to see if there are differences but too early too tell... no Sport mode yet . This particular trip was mostly city and in eco mode, not too much stop and go, and I wasn't really even trying to get good mpgs, since I love how it picks up.
Haven't read too much about it from others, but subjectively, RX500H in eco mode doesn't seem to be THAT sluggish. To me it still feels quick when needed. Didn't mash the pedal though and don't intend to, but little short bursts are fun for now (i.e. like 1/4 of the pedal?), since I'm being gentle. Regenerative braking when I coast is just great based on my driving habits to recoup. Happy to at least see 51% EV on the duration of the trip.
Edit on 12/18/2024:
Well didn't imagine that I would break over the 30mpg so soon for the first time and I was not hypermiling either, just conscious of coasting/braking and a few short bursts, all local/city roads to maximum regen. Mindful of where the needle was, would have to say it stayed on average from the bottom of the Eco meter to the 'mid' Eco notch, and short bursts of power to pass those slower on the road. Lots of pulse-and-glide used and feathering of the throttle for maintaining speed. A few red lights, but nothing too long, no AC used, and normal drive mode. Average speed of around 45-50mph? As high as 60mph from what I remember for like a couple of seconds and then accelerator off. It's still winter, but different from above is that for this trip it was constant low 70's here in the southeast! Still winter blend fuel. That's about as objective I can be, I'll shut up now. Continually impressed by this vehicle and it was well worth the wait, love everything about it so far, the hybrid was just a plus! Now on to get ceramic tints.

Reason: Update
It was the coldest day in some time here, 12F. Even though I started from a 40F. garage, my EV Driving Ratio was only 18%. Not a complaint, just an observation.
12F is cold! Don't miss the winters/snow up in the northeast haha. Glad to hear yours is garaged though. My expectations were low given what I've read in here, but since this is a performance-geared vehicle it's good. Will see how far I can possibly exceed EPA estimates. Happy Holidays everyone!
Drove 282.7 and filled up with 11.208 gal. So just north of 25mpg cars has 700m. One thing I noticed is that my tank shows less than a 1/4 and estimated of 74miles left. If our cars has 17gal capacity, why is it keeping that much in reserve? Heck my GX 460 shows 1/2 and when I fill it up, it's around 10gals already.
Traditionally, we had refilled our cars around1/4 tank...on the RX, we let that go to an indicated zero.
Unless, of course, we are at Costco anyway, to buy our housecats more Rotisserie Chicken. LOL
Hat jemand schon Informationen zum tatsächlichen Kraftstoffverbrauch für den 500h?
Danke
I had a fuel consumption of 7.5 Liter/100km 31.4 MPG with my RX450h. Unfortunately, with the RX500h Performance, it's now 9.4 Liter/100km 25.0 MPG. However, the engine's performance makes me feel better about the increased consumption
2025 RX 500h seeing about 24-25 mpg on local suburban roads
I have Under 700 miles on my car right now, I’ve been driving almost exclusively local suburban roads and seeing about 24-25 miles per gallon. It’s been pretty cold the whole time I’ve had my car so far, so the heat’s been on for most trips, and I’ve tended to remote start my car for a couple minutes before going for a ride which is also impacting those numbers. On the days that have been more mild, I had the heat off and was driving more calm than I normally do, and saw over 30 MPG. Overall I’m pretty happy with the gas mileage. I’ll be curious to see what I get when the AC is running in summertime.
