Remote start for 2011 RX450H?
Living in Yukon, I sometimes face below -40C temps. No problem at home, as she lives in a warm garage. But occasionally I am needing to be parked for hours and hours outside. Are there after-market remote start solutions for my model that anyone can recommend?

Here is the post by Moderator Salim from the above link regarding using a remote start on a hybrid:
Coming back to 450H ... remote start is counter intuitive for hybrids. When you are ready to go, the vehicle is ready with you, but the "start" never happens ... or only happens when the computer makes the choice. The vehicle runs on battery. I am sure some would disagree with me, that one can turn on the vehicle and have the A/C-heat running, but my argument is that it negates the "hybrid" motivation.
Regarding after-market solutions ... my personal opinion about them is that they are more trouble than their worth. Now the 3rd gen is fairly old, but if you were to bring the vehicle for repairs to dealership, they might insist on removing the after-market solution.
Time has moved on and I am sure the quality might have improved. If you do opt for one, please insist that the installer would not cut corners and splice into harness ***** nilly.

If you still want to try and install one see this thread: And there are other aftermarket options. The factory remote start no longer works as it is based on 3g cell technology.

Maybe an engine block heater that can be plugged in when parked would help with a hybrid. I recall reading that up in the far north those are available at parking areas..
There were some magnetic ones that attached to the oil pan and I think a dipstick heater.
