2011 Lexi could have had the Remote Engine Start either Port or Dealer installed.
RES and the (now inactive RES+ which had a phone app) uses the key fob.
The now familiar Three (3) press cadence, Press/Release/Press/Release/Press and Hold.
When the various marker lights begin to flash independently, the car will be starting.
RES is subscription free. Common problems are: 1) not pressing fast enough.
2) not holding the third press until the lights start flashing. 3) hood/door not closed.
4) Check Engine Light or Low Fuel Light on.
You should be very happy with an LS, tremendous car. Be sure to pair your phone twice,
once as a phone and then additionally as an Audio Device. Know that you must refresh
your Contact Download from your phone to the car if and when you add a new contact
to your phone (not automatic as they are now). Only matters when you can't call your
new Boss or Partner!

This should be in the FAQ as its own topic - or maybe I missed it.
From my understanding, OEM remote start capability was only available w/ subscription fee, and has now been discontinued all together due to lack of 3G support. I can confirm it does not work with the key fob on my 2016 LS.
I added the 12voltsolutions remote start to my 2010. It was plug and play with the OBD2 port. I click lock button 3 times and it starts in 5 sec. Easy.
LexG, You are correct about the Lexus Enform App being both subscription based and now inoperative
on 2017 and older Lexi (2018 GX's also). RES is a hardwired module that works with the key fob forever
without a subscription. Review the shop records to see if it was installed. RES does have the inherent
limitation of the OEM key fob's limited range.
Thru the years I've always had German cars, like M-B, BMW, and, Porsche. Back a few years ago, I had a M-B E-500, that I had to replace One Air Shock at $2,400!
My Mechanic used to preach to me, go Japanese, and specifically Toyota. So I took goods advice and traded the Benz for a 2010 Toyota Venza,XLE. It was a Great vehicle, and only had One
mechanical issue in 142K miles.
About the 1st of the year, I began a search for a LS460. The 1ST requirement was Mandatory; the car Must have had a complete service history. Mileage - Less than 150K. Color - ????, General Condition - i wanted one that still looked new, inside and out. And then price.
i found my car at a dealership in St. Mary's, Ohio. It was a Base model, RWD. It showed 133k on the clock. It was a one owne, who I'd like to thank for getting Every Lexus service, including one at 130K! Asking price was $13,500.
Overall, Im extremely impressed with this car. The quality is equal to or above, what the Germans are building.

Yea, no option right now from factory, it was based on 3g and a paid sub but, no 3g any more, there is/was a 3rd party DYI option, not sure on status. If you had it, hit the lock button on your remote like 3 times, that would start the car.
I had a 2007 and a past 2014 this worked great, 5 wires on the ECU.
