Hi Bimmer, welcome to our small group.

To start the engine you have to hit the lock button twice then press and hold the lock button again for 3 seconds..

If you have remote start, this will work. if not then it wont work. You can also look under the hood. Whoever installs a remote start should put a warning sticker on the insode of the hood to warn there is a remote start.

It's pretty pathetic instructions.

In order to get it going with success you have to hold the 3rd time lock button till you see flashing lights.

Don't let it go after 3 seconds, cuz 3 seconds are irrelevant i think as it's 3,000 milliseconds +/- some milliseconds

It's kind of good that I learnt it before winter approaching here in New Hampshire

Oh one more thing, if the battery is weak in your key FOB, that will reduce your starting parameter too.
So strong or new battery will give you above 75 feet, where weak battery in your key FOB will reduce the starting parameter.

bimmer16, welcome to the Lexus side of things. You just take the standard keyless entry fob and press the "lock" button three times quite quickly and hold the third press until the marker lights start flashing. You may then release the button and the car will run for up to 10 minutes.
Let's address a couple of the thread questions, if you left your HVAC on "Auto" and/or your Heated/Ventilated seats on you will get these functions started. Your Hybrid will not act quite like a conventional IC car in that it will seem to take longer to start. Listen carefully and you will notice that various systems are powering up.
Two shortcomings of the Lexus RS, the range is laughable and the already discussed characteristic of shutting down (for your safety? ) when you open the door to enter.

I had the Lexus RES installed at the dealer for $230 yesterday. Bought the unit at Sewell for $160. So the whole shebang cost me under $400. Not bad and it sure was nice this morning when the outside temp was 17 degrees.

Has anyone installed the OEM Remote Engine Starter on a 2010 Lexus 250h? I recently purchased the module and wiring harness but cannot find an installation PDF anywhere! There were some references to the Sewell dealership site, however, that site is now down.
