Who has installed remote start and what the best option ?

 

I have this viper one it works well but like the lexus one the car shuts off when opening the door. The installer said most lexus do this now...
The range works well but I want more... doing it again i may have gotten the smart start to start it from my iPhone.

 

I got the factory... used only in winter...


- OEM Remote Start.

Pros:
1. You can start using your factory key. Lock twice and hold for 2 seconds.
2. You can link to smart phone, RES+ and start the car from your phone.

Cons:
1. Once you open/unlock/enter the car, the engine shuts off. you have to turn the engine BACK ON.


After market Remote Start:
Pros:
1. Engine stays on for upon entry/unlock.
2. Some have ridiculous range and you can start your car from a mile away under a military bunker.

Cons:
1. May come with another remote which you will need to carry.
2. May void warranty.

 

I didn't think RES+ was available for the GS-350 (F-Sport)

 

I have the factor RS. I rarely use mine due to limited distance for the receiver. It's awful.

 

I agree with Stew, I actually wanted to add this option. But my Lexus Dealership Sales was honest enough to let me know that the range is quite poor and it's not a necessity feature to have.

Spend your money on other mods/accessories.

 

Not for the 2013 models, and the site doesn't list 2014 for the GS yet. However it is available for the 2014 IS, so here's hoping.
