Default Dash Cam and USB connector

I am researching decent dash cams that are easy to install and connect to the power of the rear view mirror. Any recommended dash cams out there that will run hardwired 5v? Do I need to be concerned about blowing fuses on a circuit? I would like a fairly quality dash cam but do not need 4K.

Is that overpriced outdated Lexus camera still around?

I recently did a lot of research for a new dash camera. Viofo and Thinkware seem to be one of the best choices with video quality along with options.
I installed the Viofo A129 Pro Duo with 4K front,1080P rear in my RCF. It is set for parking mode to record for 2 hours with a voltage regulator to shut down if the car battery starts to drain. It is comforting to know that if my car is parked somewhere, I have a front and rear view if something happens.

Where did you run the wire harness to ? As I understand you need to run a wire for constant power for parking mode.

I have a Thinkware Q800pro, 2K forward and HD rear, I used the Dongar kit for 2020+ 4Runner, it has the 5VDC USB, but I removed it and used the wires for switched 12VDC and then found the constant 12VDC and added a splice so my camera can use the parking option.
It plugs in between the power source for the rear view mirror.

I ran it to the fuse box above the emergency brake and used 2 separate fuses.

I have a question for you. I was considering the Thinkware U1000 and it will connect to your home Wi-Fi (not sure about the model you have). After running my Viofo for a while, I started wondering if the Thinkware would connect to the Wi-Fi while in parking mode. If you want to review something when you get home, can you go to your computer and connect to the camera with the car turned off?

Another big perk of the Thinkware and Viofo is the CPL filter option (Polarizing). I tried to find the filter for my Rexing camera in the GX, but they don't make one. The windshield reflection in the GX is horrible on sunny days.

I have not connected to house wifi, so I can't answer that. Instead , I have installed a 5G NetGear Nighthawk mobile hotspot device that is powered by a switched source. I removed the installed battery, so it acts as a car hotspot, only active when the car is running

Default Lexus OEM Dashcam

It appears that Lexus has an OEM Integrated Dashcam available for the 2022 and 2023 GX.:

Dashcam- PT949-76220
Wire Harness Kit- PT949-48210

I was wondering if anyone has installed, or had installed, this accessory? If so, how satisfied are you with it?

Thanks!

My apologies for starting a new thread. I searched forum for "dashcam" and not "dash cam". My apologies; I will try to be more careful in the future.

In any case, thanks for the referral to a current thread.

Honestly I would not pay close to $500 for OEM Lexus dah cam, so many other option on the market for half price.
But I do understand if you want to have all OEM
