Oh Boy, put on your flame suit, the "You can't run regular gas" members are going to come out of the woodwork. Kudo's to you for actually running regular because it's not going to hurt it.

it doesn't 'hurt' the engine because the engine retards the timing.. why would you want a retarded engine? :P

Default Gas Mileage for 2014 GX460

Just wondering what kind of gas mileage people are getting on their 2014 GX460's. I'm consistently getting about 13 mpg and no better than that. Mostly city driving. Just passed 2,000 miles on the odometer.

Default Just over 3000 miles now.

I just finished back to back 600 mile vacation weekends. Was able to get 20-21MPG on highway at 78-80 average. In combined driving during the week, averaging out at 17-17.5 MPG.

We're actually able to hit the 20mpg highway figure pretty easily, first car I've been able to do that in. Wife averages 19-20mpg driving 90% highway

I have 3500 miles on my '13. I am getting 20-21 on the highway (just did a 500 mile trip each way) and averaging 17.6 overall. My low was 12.8 but sometimes it was warming up and sitting still during a really snowy period. My all time high was 22.8 on a trip to TN. Overall pretty well satisfied as I am coming from a Sequoia that averaged about 15 overall. I hope it will get a bit better as it gets well "broken in" - my 4Runners and Sequoia continued to improve up to about 10K miles.

make sure tires are inflated correctly. thats a big factor in mpg in this suv

I saw a noticeable increase in fuel efficiency after 25K miles on my 2011 GX 460. I now average 17 city/hwy driving.

Default Real mpg

I sold my lovely 470 last year and couldn't be more regret.

So now I am considering the new 460 LUX+ML.

Just want to hear from you guys what's the real MPG.

FYI I move to Chicago now so city driving for the most time.

Thanks!

P.S. any advice on negotiating price will be very helpful.

I do mostly stop and go driving on a 50 MPH local shopping type highway with many lights. I always average 16.5 a tank. I have gotten as good as 22 MPG on a trip but 16.5 is my per tank average with normal driving, but I do have a heavy foot at times.

I think you would be pretty safe assuming the MPG is +/- about the same as your 470, should be slightly better in most cases.

15 -16 in town, 21-22 loaded with stuff on trips - 17 overall. Calculated myself other than believing display because my 4runner and Sequoia both lied to me! My mi league is just about what my sticker said it would be.
