I typically get a little under 19 with mostly back rounds to and from work.
Usually average a little over 22 on highway trips.

The Yakima LW probably has a .5mpg impact or so, 1 at the most. The 19mpg was a 200miles trip with 50 in single lane highway. Around town and stop and go traffic was average around 15.5-16mpg before the roof basket.

I'm just come back after my cross country trip - 7230 miles in total from east cost to east and back. AVG mpg was 18.9 average speed 80-85 mph. As i saw mpg was very dependable of attitude in some states it was 21 mpg in some i can't do better 17.

Thanks. It isn't my first long trip, but first where i was single driver. No one problem with car, whoever i try it on couple trails and it doesn't have proper articulation - i would customize bumpers and may be upgrade suspension, after that i believe it would be real all porpoise poise suv.

What year GX do you have? Were trails heavily rutted? I haven't had any issues with articulation but certainly ground could use some work.

2014 year try to find power bumper that fit on it, think about arb from prado, not really hard trails but with lots stones and sharp rocks i belive i can drive through but bumpers would crack - too low.

Some custom bumper stuff for '10-'13 as per shot below but I haven't really seen anything for 14+ for bumpers.

Lift would be the best bet on '14+ models. If you don't have a luxury model you might want to look into what guy did with this previously posted video.

Wow nice road trip! I'd love to do such a trip some day. But if I do it probably won't be in the GX but rather the Odyssey. Mini vans are the best for road trips haha.
At 80-85 and almost 19mpg is really really good. Did you use the stay with the gas brand through out the trip too? I found that some brand yields better mileage than other, even with tier 1.

How is your Odyssey holding up? I always thought they were fairly bullet proof then a co-worker went on a road trip last year and lost the AC compressor which isn't unheard of in any vehicle. Then this year it started using a quart of oil every 600-800 miles. It's a 2005 model with that variable cylinder management system with around 150k miles.

This came out for later years.

My is 2006 and it has been really good so far as a road trip, family hauler car. It's currently almost 110k with very little issues, I only had to replace the rear engine mounts due to the VCM cutoff that wore them out prematurely. I had the ECM reprogrammed to increased the crusing RPM a bit higher than original from the dealer to help with the virations and also install the VCMuzzle mode that disable VCM at cruising speed. I haven't noticed much oil burning and usually change it around 7k or so with M1
Interestingly it's not on the list of Honda airbag recall.

Thanks! I'll mention the VCMuzzle to my co-worker. He has never liked that functionality on his van.

We've gotten 20-22 at 75 mph all highway. At lower speeds I've seen 24 as well.

I get 22-24 mpg with strictly highway driving (usually 72mph) using 93 octane.
