Default 04 GX470 hood shocks replacement

I noticed the hood shocks on my GX needs a replacement. Where can I get it cheaper than $300?

I was told at the dealership $300 installed. If its $55 each, I can install it myself with a piece of wood stick. Anyone knows the part number of it?

I replaced my struts with Strong Arm 6228 struts, my experience with this brand on both the GX470 and 4runner has been positive. The Strong Arm struts come with the replacement ball screw and conical washer, the conical washer base is against the vehicle and the top of the cone is against the screw. The 2008 GX470 service manual has the ball screws at 13ft-lbs or 156in-lb, if you have a deep socket and a torque wrench you can get these tightened perfectly. After the ball screws are installed, the struts just snap into place, I installed mine to the engine bay first, then turned the strut body 90 degrees clockwise (per the instructions) and snapped them into the hood. Note, you will have to lift your hood a little bit to get the alignment just right to snap them in.
