Install is easy, all you need is a 12mm wrench. I would post a how to but there's not much to it.
With the new hood shocks install the top / bottom ball ends and washers first and then pop the shock on. Piece of cake!
I don't have much to compare them too since my stock shocks were toast but these things lift the hood up so well I thought they were going to rip the lower ball ends out of the GX and send my hood flying through the ceiling.
I know it will go bad on GX, My other lexus is also not holding up.
It's weird to think that out of all of the cars I've owned since 16, I've never had to replace any hood shocks. The Lexus techs probably wore them out from all of the scheduled maintenance the PO had them do. She was on that schedule like clockwork!
