Default Auto side Mirrors not working right

The mirrors on our 2015 GS with luxury package no longer tilt down when in reverse. This started right after a Lexus service visit. They work normally in other respects and fold normally. Is there some setting I’m overlooking? Would prefer to deal with this at home since the dealer is not that close. There is a Toyota dealer nearby though.

More than likely the motor is going or gone, this is a common problem as Lexus uses plastic motor pieces that don't last.

Where is the rocker switch currently sitting for the left/right mirror control? On my 2016 it has to be in a position where the left or right mirror is selected and not in the neutral position.

Also it may been adjusted at the dealer so to adjust back, just place the car in reverse and lower the mirror to your desired reverse angle. The car will save the setting and go back to it as long as the rocker switch is in the Left or Right position.

If the motor is gone, you will find out very quickly during the adjustment.

The setting may have been reset.

Try putting the car in reverse, with break pedal down, adjust the left and right mirrors down and where you want them in reverse.
Now put in park and the mirrors should go back to where they were for normal driving.

Problem solved hopefully.

Both of my side mirrors are from cars that were in accidents, I retrofitted power folding side mirrors into my 2013 Gsh and everything works perfectly fine 3 years later.

Likely he just needs to set the reverse positions because dealer reset it or just make sure left/right mirror is selected. If it’s not selected thats why it’s not tilting in reverse.

^This

Took me a min the first time to realize this, but mine was just a case of the switch being moved to the neutral position.

Thanks! Didn’t realize it needed to have a side selected.

You don’t always want it pointing at the ground when backing up, this is how you switch between the two modes.
