If you just remove the OE filter box completely you'd probably get the same results you are getting with the new cold air intake you just recently installed. The [so-called] cold air intake you installed has probably altered the signal the MAF sensor has been sending the ECU just a little bit too much.
PS - That [so-called] cold air intake you installed ain't doing jack squat for you.
I bet the hose next to your MAF popped off. The clip that holds it to the OE tube is not sufficient to hold the hose against the CAI tube. You need to use a proper hose clamp for it... See below
Hey look I got the same setup this is weird this only came on after i install the intake and after i reset the light it does not came back on until like 30-50 miles of driving
Not sure what to tell other than maybe the MAF needs to be cleaned? Try resetting the light and then resetting the ECU via disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and see if it helps?
Put everything back to stock, return the CAI, problem solved. The factory intake is a cold air intake, gets the cold air directly from the top of the grill.
If the sound generator is not enough noise for you change your exhaust setup.
These aftermarket intakes provide negligible hp gains, just a bunch of sucking noise.
Hey, Guys took it to the dealer they told me the purge flow valve hose came out they fixed it for me? do anybody have a diagram where this for future references?
Here is what the EVAP Purge Flow Valve looks like - about half the size of your fist. It will be mounted close to the intake manifold with rubber hoses attached to it and an electrical cable plugged in to it. When the valve fails or one of the hoses leaks or becomes disconnected it will throw a P0441 CEL code. The hose that came loose from the purge flow valve could have come loose at the valve itself, or the hose could have become disconnected at the other end.
This should be the EVAP Purge Flow Valve on your picture.
Hey so the dealer provided this photo why I was getting this check engine light to turn on they said it was somewhere close to the air filter box if not underneath. Does anybody know where exactly this is?
Hey quick thing so the dealer today fixed the issue for me today for $99.00 they said the purge valve hose was disconnected but the picture you provided that you circle i look there and everything was connected.
i attach the photo the dealer showed me where was disconnected due you know exactly where this is
Old thread, but it helped me a lot in figuring out my problem.
Got the same P0441 error code after changing out my spark plugs. Couldn't figure out what was disconnected, as everything on top seemed fine.
I believe the picture may show the same area where my hose was disconnected. The hose goes under the intake tube from there to the purge valve on top. The stock intake has a clip in the middle that holds onto this tube. I had not noticed this, so when I went to remove the intake, it yanked the hose out. It's pretty hard to see that it was disconnected if you don't look at the proper angle.
