Default Why does nav screen appear after phone call?

Does anyone know why the nav screen pops up after a phone call has ended even when the media screen was up before the phone call? I don't ever use the nav screen but if I make a phone call it goes to the nav screen even though it was on media before. I've dug through all the menus and can't find a way to stop this.

I've asked the same question and no response. It's annoying and I haven't found a way around it.

I've found sometimes it will revert back to media but I think it only happens if you place the call. If you receive the call, it always reverts to map.

Do you have the auto screen setting turned on? Try turning it off and see if the behavior retains.

There is a way to change the screen from defaulting to nav: go into settings, general, and turn auto screen change "off." (default is "on.")

Unfortunately that does not solve this particular issue. That works to prevent it from reverting back to NAV after anytime you switch to another screen, but in this case, even with this setting turned off, it reverts back to NAV but only after phone calls.

I have the same issue as OP. I keep my left hand large screen on Media/Radio and smaller right hand screen on mini-Consumption at all times. Whenever I receive a phone call, it always goes back to NAV after I'm done and I have to press the "Radio" button again to get it back to the screens I want.

I wonder if tapping the "Mode" button on the steering would revert back to my screens without actually changing the media input, will have to try.

I already had it off. Not sure what it did so I turned it on and no matter what screen I was on it would revert back to the options screen after a few seconds so I turned it back off.

Good idea. I'll see if it works.

Yep, just tried it during lunch and got the same as you.

I will tell you though, I’m either playing the radio or streaming from iPhone via BT, and after a call, received or placed, I always return to the playlist or radio station. And I have the auto screen change set to off.

I also remember when I had the 15, the screen ALWAYS reverted to displaying the nav map and it frustrated me. Turning the auto screen to off fixed that issue and just left the screen as is and never returned to any previous screen.

edit: Not sure if this makes a difference but I don’t use the nav at all, don’t have any destinations saved, except for home, and that’s a maybe. Is the Nav still active so the system switches back to it thinking that’s your primary use at the time? Just guessing....

Not the case for me. I literally never use the NAV for NAV purposes. If anything, I might press the MAP button once in a while just to get a map view if I'm driving downtown, but the guidance is never active.
