Default Changing/Removing Shift ****

I got a shift **** for Christmas, when I went to change it out I noticed that when I twist it, the leather boot is twisting too and seems attached too it, seem like a much larger piece then just the top. I tried just twisting the top portion above the leather boot but it was not budging. I did not want to twist too hard and tear or break something. Has anyone switched out their shift **** in their GS, if so does the top come off or do you need to pull the leather boot out if it even comes out which makes it kind of impossible to switch out the shifter as pretty much all of them on the market are just the top portion.

You just pull the leather piece down. It's held by clips. THEN you can rotate the top part. Here is a video. I did this for my own.

Yup just pull the leather boot down at the silver clip. It should come off with a little force. Then rotate the shift **** til it comes off.

Thanks, I actually watched your video to figure it out. All the other ones I have tried you just twist off. Off course for the 4th Gen GS there is this connection piece so the shiftknob I got does not fit properly even though it said it did, looks like there is pretty much no aftermarket support for 4th Gen GS shiftknobs with its design.

Can't believe shiftk n o b is being censored here like it is a bad word.

You can get it from JOSH@DCTMS on the forums. Be warned though his communication is not always great lol... expect delays. But good quality product.

Yeah Josh is horrible at communication. I ordered my CF steering wheel and shift **** back end of October 2018. I sent several emails to him asking for updates, he never replied. Hope the wait is worth it. My steering wheel is special one of custom though, so maybe that's why the long delay.

Quality work is no excuse for poor customer service. I bet he has good communication prior to purchase, but doesn't care to respond afterwards. Hopefully you actually get the item you ordered.

Instead of Josh, contact nettw124@yahoo.com. He seems to reply immediately. He works at DCTMS. I think Josh quit or something.

@jdpdata - Contact him to get your wheel. It should not take more than 5-6 weeks. If that period has exceeded, contact email above. If no response after 2019, do a charge back.
