Default loose shift ****

Just noticed the shift **** on my new gs-f is loose and can be twisted easily. Is this normal? Something I can fix on my own, rather than waiting for the dealer to fix it? If so, how do I remove the shift boot?

Unless I'm missing something, the **** is screwed on, so just tighten it up. The connector at the bottom should just pop off, and then back on when you're done.

Just pull down on the leather boot, tighten the ****, and then snap leather boot back on.

I didn't know u can just pop off the leather boot. Hmm.. good to know! Mine is pretty tight by the way, it doesn't twist easily.

Can u swap the **** with the IS one and still use the same boot?

I tried pulling the leather boot and it's so tight..afraid to break that. Do you think you can have a photo of how it's being pulled down (or after it's pulled down). THanks

It won't break...you simply push down on it and it will pop off. Rotate it 360 degrees clockwise and viola!

Nobody knows probably because no one bothered. The GS shifter is much nicer than the IS shifter; GS shifter has more leather and less ugly silver plastic trim. Some IS owners are fitting the GS **** on their car, so I assume it works vice versa.
