Default Wiper Issue

Couldn't find any thread about my issue with the intermittent wiper function, so here goes...

I cannot get a setting to allow for manual setting of the wipers to a non-rain sensor intermittent wiper frequency. Turning on the Automatic setting, the wipers will operate based on the rain sensor and react to the "sensitivity" dial...giving an intermittent wipe based on the sensor. Moving the switch to any other position just changes the wipers to Low, High, or One-time. From the manual, it says there is no manual intermittent when on Automatic, okay so ...

With the Automatic setting turned off, I still don't get a manual intermittent function. The only functions I get are One-time, Low, or High.

I've gone through the manual, but still can't figure it out. Have you had any similar problems. Am I missing something or is there something wrong with the wiper control?

See the top of page 200 in the owners manual:

Switching between the intermittent windshield wipers and rain sensing windshield wipers (vehicles with rain-sensing windshield wipers)

The wipers can be used as intermittent windshield wipers, which operate regardless of vehicle speed or amount of raindrops. Press and hold until the AUTO mode indicator stops flashing. If is pressed and held until the AUTO mode indicator stops flashing again, it will return to its previous state. The wiper can be switched when the vehicle is stopped and the wiper is off.

I had no idea you could switch between auto and intermittent. That's cool.

I had tried it with Auto turned off and the Intermittent didn't work. So...looks like it's off to the dealer.

Default Back with an update...and question

I took my issue to the dealer and, of course, the problem didn't show itself. They showed me that with the Auto function off, the wipers worked intermittantly like expected. So off I went looking foolish. A few days later it rained, I switched to the Manual Intermittent setting and...it operated at slow speed continously. Apparently, the dealer demonstrated the Manual Intermittant function when the car was stationary (in Park) in the receiving bay, but once the car is moving the wipers only operate at slow speed (when in manual intermitant setting).

Here is my question...Is this how your GS wipers operate? Can you control the manual intermittent frequency when moving, or do the wipers only operate in Slow speed then. (When in Auto, my wipers do change frequency with speed and rain/water intensity)
