Sometimes it seems asleep, you can just push it up & down once then forget about it. Just one of the characteristics. Not a game changer. Next time it will surprise you.

OP, I agree the automatic windshield wiper seems a bit slower to get going, but I decided I actually like it better as I have not tended to continually play with the stalk adjustment David points out as much as I did on my former 400h.
I have to ask though, even though it's a bit off-subject, now that you've had your new ride a couple of weeks and your last posts are about things that don't seem as good to you, is there anything you are finding superior about your 450 compared to the 330?
I'm still trying to make sense of the sensitive settings. At least in the 2010 manual, it just says turn to adjust sensitivity, but it does not say which way is which. With conventional delay wipers, the larger markings meant more delay, smaller markings meant short delay. So I had assumed that smaller markings would correspond with more frequent wiper passes but I now think it's opposite. The larger markings seem to offer more sensitivity and more frequent passes, opposite of how delay wipers work. Although I'm still not 100% certain. Certainly this rain sensing wipers thing is part art, part science. It does need a whack in the back of the head sometimes when it comes to starting and stopping. I've had my windshield holding more water than an aquarium where I had to flip the wipers on manually to get them to start. I've also had to manually shut them off as the rain sensor tried to rub off all the rubber on high speed passes on a dry window. Once they do get going it works pretty well, but the start and stop occasionally (not always) can be a bit stupid.
