Default Third door with bad door lock.

Hey folks. New to me 2014 GS350 AWD Luxury purchased 3 weeks ago. The first week I got it I noticed that the passenger side door locks were not working - the front one didn't work at all and the rear one worked intermittently. I scheduled a repair at the local Lexus dealership and they fixed it, no problem. Now the driver's side rear door isn't working. Three door lock actuators gone bad in the same vehicle. Is there something bigger going on here? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've replaced two in the past year on my 2013. Of course, I also had to replace a couple on my old 06 IS. So, it's common?

Are the replacements good or is it a reoccurring problem? I'm glad this is happening while the vehicle is still under warranty.

Thumbs down

They still have not figured out how to make a solid door lock actuator that will last by now? That was a huge issue for the 2nd Gen, I thought they would have solved it for the 3rd gen or maybe they just figure they make too much money totally ripping owners off charging over $500 a pop to fix them. That is really disappointing if true the 4th gen has door lock actuator issues too.

Nope they were all different doors and had no problems with the replacements. But they were under warranty, so I didn't have to fork out the cash.

When I made the appointment to fix the first two doors, the girl (i.e. NOT the service advisor or mechanic) who scheduled the appointment said they fix those a lot. You would think, after all these years, that they would upgrade the quality of the door lock actuators just a tad bit.

Wow I remember this was a big issue on the 2nd gen. This is pretty disappointing to hear.

I have never had to change one on any of my Lexus'. I do keep mine in the garage so I wonder if it's related to those that are out in the weather all the time???

I've had both the driver and passenger's front replaced on my '14 GS already. Car is garaged at work and home.

I remember changing one on my 2nd generation GS. Nothing on my current '14 GS 42K. Garage kept. Knock on wood!!!

That would be disappointing since I by Toyota/lexus mainly based on reliability and quality.
