I have a 2008 IS250...long story short I have already had to replace the driver side door lock a few months ago. now my rear passenger side went. WTF. Why do we have garbage door lock mechanisms in an almost 40k car? Even tho my car has 85k miles the door is never used or slammed for that matter. Don't understand the issue...I see a few other threads with similar complaints. Ughhh here goes another $350 down the toilet.
Very common all my door locks dont work but my driver side. There was a cheaper solution to this but I cannot find this. Please report back if you found a solution.
Does the IS have the same type of door lock actuator that the earlier 2nd gen GS has?
if it is, there's a write up on replacing just the motor for a few bucks.
The problem is that you don't use the door, so it died out of feeling of neglect
Anyways, I'm not sure if it's very common with Lexus, though I saw a few posts here saying their locks had gone bad.
Welp 2 years later and I am experiencing the same issue. Driver door won't unlock. It's such bs on a luxury car. They couldn't get the door locks right? Really? Anyways my symptoms are this:
Put my hand on driver side door handle, nothing happens. Click my key fob to unlock everything unlocks except for driver door. Go to passenger door: put hand on handle everything except the driver door unlocks. Guessing it's motor (actuator) in driver door again. I'm calling lexus tomorrow to complain. All of my actuators have been replaced already. This will be my third actuator on this door.
