I thought the whole audio system ran through the sub on the ML? If you unplugged it, how did you get any sound from the speakers? Not questioning your method, just curious. Thanks.
you can just unplug it at the sub. I did the same as I added an aftermarket sub and amp.
The GS’s ML stinks imo. I’ve replaced every front stage speaker so far and added a sub. Only thing left is to install my DSP and send more power and tune the speakers. Went with HAT L2SE for fronts, L3SE for center channel, HAT 6x9’s for the doors. Or Audiofrog 6.5’s. Will have to play with them and see which I like more.
the 2IS I previously had without ML had a much better 3way front stage system than this ML gs unfortunately. I think that is due to the tweeterless design.

How are you going to get more power from a DSP? What source of amplification are you going to use processing with the DSP?

Was initially going to run my Ground Zero 6-8 DSP with my sundown 1100.5 amp but was able to get my hands on a helix M6 DSP with true center channel capabilities. Now just looking to source a helix M one for the sub.
just need to find 2-3 days to rip apart the interior again and run speaker wires and deaden the rear deck some more as I’m still getting a little rattle with certain frequencies.
