I have a 2007 GS350,Black on Black. 85K. Yesterday I went to open the trunk and it did not work. Checked the fuse and it was good. Will not open with dash button or from the trunk or with the key. Do not want to take to dealer as it would cost a small fortune Any help on what to check would be appreciated. Thank You
Couple of thoughts. I am assuming you can use your key as a manual workaround for now? After confirming your 'Valet' button is not active in your glove box I would move on to the next step. I have heard of some success of manually opening the trunk with the key and disconnecting the ground cable from the battery for 3-5 minutes. Reconnecting does a reset on the ECU and seems to have resolved this for others. Next step would be a pricey cable harness replacement that controls the latch itself (approx. $1,600). Let me know what happens!

I do not have a key slot in the trunk to try. The key slot in the glove box only allows u to lock or unlock the ability to open the trunk. I still have no way to open it Thanks for the suggestions thou
Hmm. I am fairly certain this is a standard feature required by all manufacturers to include for emergency opening of the trunk. Are you sure there is not a key slot on the right of your handle to open the trunk with your key? Give that a shot and once open, disconnect the battery and follow those steps. If you still cannot find your key (inside your fob) or the key slot for your trunk, take a look at the steps in this thread: Emergency Trunk Opening Procedure

i don't think you've checked thoroughly. look under near your license plate lights. you should see a key hole either on the left or right side. could possibly be that your trunk latch is stuck.
Yes, you do have a key cylinder for your trunk release. Get down on your knees and look above the license plate on the driver's side. It cannot be seen from behind unless you get below the bumper. It faces the ground.
Wait, have you checked the Valet button in the glove box compartment yet? Broncosi mentioned the button but I don't see you mention anything about the button. I run into this issue from time and time (and freak out) and it's always the damn Valet button. Somehow it just magically activates by itself
Happens to my 09 gs350 .It would happen like once a year or when someone slams the trunk even tho its self closing. Disconnect the battery for 5 min reconnect should work again . let me know if that helped

Exact same thing happened to me a few days ago. Turns out the culprit was the valet switch inside the glove compartment. Don't know how the heck, it got activated.
