Default Hid headlights

From my understanding my 2008 GS350 should already have factory HID. So I should just be able to get 6000k - 10000k bulbs and just chang the factory 4500k. If that is the case, what is a better recommended bulb brand. But if I need to get an after market HID kit, what kit would you recommend?

Figure out if it's an issue with the bulb or the ballast then go from there. Just swap the left bulb with the right and see if it fires up, you'll know. Our cars require D4S so you'll have to order it somewhere, you can get a generic brand one for dirt cheap on Amazon/eBay or you can go with a legit brand for a lot more. Osram and Philips are pretty much the best and you get what you paid for. Would not recommend going higher than 6000k unless you want more style points and less visibility.

Thank you. I know that the bulb is a D4S. The lights are fine. But I wanted to know if I can just replace the bulb with a 6000k bulb or even an 8000k bulb since it has a factory hid kit.

Yes, you can replace with whatever temp you want. Just make sure is d4s or d2s, same cutouts. Try Morimoto for decent price and nice quality unless you want to spend 180 for osram or philips ultinon

So I should be okay with just getting these bulbs to replace what's already in the car
Amazon Amazon
Also a lot of people recommend garax for hid bulbs. What do you think?

In my experience, never used Garax but heard good things about them...I'll go with the Morimotos, they are pretty solid, I think if you buy them from The Retro Fit Source you get 2 for $60 with warranty and free shipping. That's how I bought them but that was a while ago but doesn't hurt to check. Good luck and let us know your decision.

I've had my Garax since like, 2011 or 2012ish? it's been 5+ years and no problems whatsoever.

I highly reccomend our vendor XenonDepot on here. It's because of people like him that we have our forums up and running to help fellow members.

He also uses pretty solid HID kits and is very knowledgeable in what will and won't work on your car.

Search up his name and send him a PM about all your questions.

Thanks for the plug, @XxGokoUxX.

Everyone's right here, you need D4S bulbs for your vehicles factory HID Low Beams, and as long as you already have that setup you can put in any D4S bulb you like. D4S Osram CBI or D4S Philips Ultinon 6000K are both great options if you are looking for that white/blue look that you get around 6000K.

Any links for the "Garax" bulbs? I'm also considering upgrading my OEM HID bulbs in my GS460 to maybe some 6000K Garax. I really like the Phillips D4S but at $200 per unit, at this present time is not in my budget. If the 6000K Garax provide an upgrade over the OEM bulbs and are price similarly to the Morimoto D4S 6500K XB OEM HID Bulb (Currently $30 on Amazon), Then I would definitely make that upgrade
