If you are shifting from park to drive at 1500 RPMs then you will experience some movement. Let the RPMs come down some first...you must shift to drive before the car finishes its system check....geez...

Would like to add that if your transmission ever has a problem or you get a shift solenoid code, if you disconnect the battery and it goes away, then it is your ECU causing the problem. The ECU also does not have to be replaced. It's normally a dry solder joint, so reflowing or baking the board will fix it.

Hey mate

This is interesting as I've recently experienced similiar problems. The car would hesitate at RPM < 1000 when taking off and throw the P2757 code (TCC solenoid stuck off or not functioning). Then, when in limp mode, would drive like a troll =[

Took it to a trans place and they flat out said new tranny (didn't even drop the pan).

But anytime I've cleared the code, the car drives like an absolute dream.

So tomorrow I will be getting a mate of mine to clear the codes once again and using this as an experiment.

Hypothesis is: If it runs like a dream, it's not the trans. It must be electrical. What that electrical part is though I have no idea.

Based on this post, it seems like a good start is to look at the ECU?

Are these things we can get repaired or is it best to replace them??? I feel like I'm really close to fixing this issue now and would love further info to learn

Is this a 2006 GS300, because majority of ecu issues are 2006's. Send it out to have it inspected and fixed if need be, only $110 for the service

yep, it certainly is a 2006..

my trans experiences no issues when cruising highways etc and has no slippage between gears like some others have had to deal with.

It could be a combo of both solenoid and ecu.. but the way it improves when we clear the code is leading us to believe its Predominantly electrical

when you say “send it out” - what type of business would I be sending it to? are you referring to auto elec or dealership or?

thanks so much in advance

SIA electronics, also after you send it for inspect. Best to do a drain and fill the transmission, if you havent done this. Solenoids are known to go bad in the 2006's, but not common. So its best to get the trans fluid drained and filled 2 to 3 times atleast.

There will be lots of transmissions replaced or rebuilt when it's really the ECU. I had a shift solenoid code and CEL and clunking into reverse, I took it to a transmission specialist and he it was most likely the ECU, could have bull****ted and said he rebuilt my transmission and just fixed the ECU but he didn't. Sure enough it was the ECU, it was rebuilt and I didn't have that problem again.

I have no problems with my 06's transmission, excepts some slightly rough shiftings. It has 151k km, which isn't much, but as the previous owner told me he never thought about replacing the ATF, I think it is because of its age. I'm planning to do 3 or 4 drains and fills.

No reason to flush. You can dump the fluid and if you want change the filter.

I would do just a drain and fill at first, drain then measure and refill the same amount and a bit more for pump fluid loss

I have an 07 GS350 AWD that occasionally on light load (eg going up a slight incline) will send a shudder through the car, backing off or accelerating will stop it. I think I'm going to do a fluid drain and fill this weekend and see how that goes unless anyone else has other thoughts.

Cheers.
