I wanna dyno my GS460 tonight on a dynojet. What do I need to look out for? Traction on or off, will the car go into limp mode or is there a dyno mode like on some of the E46 M3'?
I wanna dyno may car stock as it is now, and dyno after installing the tanabe's, mid-pipes and high flow filter.
We are lucky to have guys like you... some are afraid to take the first step fearing the consequences, and others dont have second thoughts and go with it! Keep up the enthusiasm!
I tried this in the past and my car wouldn't hold gear (GS430). It worked better in snow mode but we still had no success. I tried this when MHP was offering the ECU tune. I was going to step up for the 3GS group and try it out. Good thing it didn't work with all that went down.
how much is it to rent a DYNO ? I know that you need atleast a full days work to get the right results if you know what you are doing.
A dyno run is usually $75 - $100 for three pulls including an air/fuel reading.
The "full day's work" doesn't really apply here. That would be used when you've got a car that has a lot of adjustable parameters (e.g. turbo w/ boost and fuel differences, tunable ECU, standalone ECU).
I'm not sure how many of these apply, but a lot more IS owners have dyno'd their cars and might have some help. Consensus seems to be disable traction, 4th gear, snow mode.
A few 2IS threads (don't think any "pedal dance" stuff should apply to your 2010), there are more if you search
