Took about 20 mins today to close it I've had this problem on my 01 GS300, but it was an easy fix. All I had to do is pull the cable and it would close. I could not find the hood release cable on this car. Anyone else having hard time closing it ?

 

does it latch but not fully close or just not latching? could possibly just have to adjust the latch.

 

I'm pretty sure I saw 3GS hood hinges on ebay for pretty cheap the other day. Maybe your hinges got damaged somehow. Does the car have any history of an accident?

 

mine is a pain in the *** too. i have to slam it for it to shut.

I never open the hood anymore unless I have to for fear of doing damage. It is a pain in the *** to close for me as well...have to slam it really hard multiple times. Dealer greased it up and said it was normal.

 

I have the same issue. Its annoying. I used to pop the hood on my G35 all of the time but with this thing I dont want the drama. It always needs to be slammed.

I remember when I first got the car and I had the lever for popping the hood broke off. I was pissed

 

just curious because it seems like a common problem but why is it so hard to close? whats happening when you try to close it?
