Default Dashboard Rattles Fixed

I picked up my 2006 Gs today from the dealer with a new dash installed. The tech test drove and verified the rattle from the instrument panel while driving. Found the instrument panel warped where defroster vents attach causing a poor fit inside. After several attemps to insulate noise was still there. Tech replaced instrument panel so far no noise after the repair. They also refinished all four alloy wheels they look like new.
If you have rattles press the dealer to get it fixed. Driving without the rattles you can really appreciate the Lexus quality.

The front afs sensor was also fixed. They had the Gs for two weeks. I asked them about replacing the tires with non run flats they told me the ride quality would'nt be the same. Are you replacing your run flats every 30K or are you buying 40 - 50K non run flat tires.

the local lexus dealership wanted nearly 2k to fix the dash. =( i guess i can live with the rattles for another year before i sell it. the warantee happens to run out two months before i bought the car. it's an 06' gs as well.

$2K too much.
I have 06 GS, 2nd owner but dash seems quiet.
Slight rattles on passenger door; will get this fixed on my next service.

Thanks for the post. I already have approval from lexus to have my dash replaced because I have this weird discoloration over the center vents. I was afraid that install may create more issue. I will have them do it at the next service. I will miss her for a week or so, but she will come back tip top and hopefully with a set of F sports sway bars

are you refering to the trim around the center vents or the actual dash itself? if so my trim around the center vent is doing the same thing

It seems like Lexus save a few bucks using that cheap material on the dash, but in the end, it ended up costing more

the sun is pretty powerful.

it can do a lot of damage to any car in 3 years.

for example, if you park your car outside all the time, your headlamps will turn yellow within 3 years.

all plastics oxidize within a few years if you don't maintain them.
