Hey CL members,

I just recently bought a 3GS and I've pretty much been on this site for weeks just researching and looking at all the impressive mods everyone has done. I told myself I would stop fixing up cars, but I just cant resist.

Im lookin at lowering my car and pretty much slamming it so that I have no finger gap and im wondering if the following set up will work:

Work Varianza T1s
20x9 +35 with 235/30/20
20x10 +45 with 275/30/20

This setup originally came from a 3GS then bought by a 3IS member who is now selling the wheels(the reason for smaller tire sizing).

Does anyone have this set up or know someone who has this set up? I pretty much wanna slam the car, have no gaps, and have NO RUBBING issues at all (without modifying my fenders).

Ive been going back and forth with Rominl (who really know his stuff when it comes to offset), but hes not 100% sure about this set up either. He says there MAY be an issue with the rears rubbing. I just want to make sure before I dump the money.

input your GS wheel specs on the left, and the aftermarket wheel/tire combo on the right. see the comments below. that should give you a "guideline" as to whether or not the wheel/tire combo you have in mind will fit or not. if in doubt, always go with the safe wheel/tire size. good luck

Thanks, seems like the fronts are going to be fine, but the rears are questionable like Rominl had stated.
Not sure if this is going to be problem.

My rears are at: 20” x10" offset +40mm 255/30/20 and no rubbing issues. Hope this helps

 

Can you fit five in your car and still no rubbing?

If this is the case, it seems like i can just mess with tire specs to have no rubbing.

 

The most I've had was 4... (sorry not enough friends). haha.. No rubbing issues with 4. I have Teins CS and it is on the lowest setting.

No fender work...

 

his tire width is 255.... so it might not work in your case.

 

Depending on how "slammed" you want to be you may have to do some fender work, or sacrifice wheel size. But since you say you dont want to have any finger gaps thats not really slammed anyways. A slammed car to me would be having the wheels tucked behind the fender and taking about 5min to get out of a driveway. If you really want that "slammed" look then I highly suggest bags, and if you live in SoCal then it will also save you a tremendous amounts of headache since their roads are some of the worst. But if you just lower it to a zero gap then you shouldnt have any problems with rubbing your tires.
