All of you guy who have 20" wheel, please help me with the tire size. I'm thinking of using front 245-35-20 on stock suspension. What do you guy think? Is it going to be ok or it is going to rub? TIA.
no... it will rub at stock height on turns and if you lower it it will rub when you hit dips especially if the fender liner has not been modified. im using a 225/35/20 and it rubbed at stock height on tight turns. i tried running a 245/35/20 lowered and it rubbed like crazy
i recently ordered some iforged from d2. the recommended tire sizes they gave for the IS350 was 235/30/20 front and 275/30/20 back. they said i shouldn't have any rubbing issues lowered on eibachs. i should be getting the news in a few weeks, i'll let you know. i think there's a few ppl on here running 20s with no rubbing issues. offset will be a factor in this, i believe.
I purchased a set of Toyo T1-Rs, 245/30/20 front and 285/25/20 rear and it's perfect!!! With this setup I have 0 rubbing issues and I didn't even need to make any mods to my fenders/wheel wells and I lowered my car approximately 1.5 inches. Now, I know that a major reason why there is no rubbing is because the wheels have the proper offsets. What are they? I don't know as the wheels were ordered custom made for the car.
245/35/20 will rub in the front without modding the fender lining. All that requires is a heat gun and there's a tutorial (maybe in the aftermarket wheel thread) on this site if you do a search. Mine rubbed when doing u-turns or any turn that required about 25+ degree wheel turn. Once I did the mod however, everything was peachy.
just keep in mind that if you decide to lower your car, it will rub with those tires even with the fenders modded. trust me, you'll want to lower it once you get the new wheels on. id hate to see you spend some money on some tires and have to buy another pair when you decide to lower it.
Happy thanks giving guys and gal.....Sorry for all the trouble guys....I've changed my mind and go with 235-30 in the front, to save me all the trouble later on. Thanks for all the quick and useful info. I'll keep mine stock, because I have to take my wife and my kid out on the weekend. I don't want them to have car sick sitting in the back seat. It's already bumpy with the stock sport suspension.
