I have a weird problem with the car. The battery died out of no where 6 months ago and I had to get a jump, the car then ran fine ever since. Now 2 weeks ago I went to my car and it seemed like the same problem, the car wouldnt crank, the navi would turn on for a sec and then turn off and it seemed like it had no power. Weird thing was, all the lights on the instrument panel were on and I saw the drl's were on, but I had them turned off. I had it jumped and the car ran fine. Now yesterday I went to take the car out and the same thing, it wont turn on, it gives a weak crank and nothing. I see all the lights are on in the instrument panel and the compass is resetting over and over again. I havent had time to get a jump and take it to the dealer yet.
Before I take it in, anyone have any ideas what it could be? How long is the battery good for? Is it under warranty?
^ Better question is, how long has the car been in-service and how many miles does it have. Sounds like your battery is bad, can't hold sufficient charge to crank. IIRC, new oem car batteries barely last 4 yrs due to all the electronics and gadgets on modern cars. Acura warrants their battery for 24mo/24k for a new replacement, after that it is on a prorata basis, not sure what Lexus' policy is. . .
You should have it check out because it might just simply because your battery is getting old. And I do agree that the modern car right now uses more electricity then the older cars because all of the new functions that we have on the car today.

absolutely sounds like the battery. In AZ the batteries dont last very long. HEAT + AGE + ELECTRONICS + THE OCCASIONAL 90 MIN OF STEREO PLAY WHILE WAXING = DEAD BATTERY. Just take it in they should be able to get you fixed up pretty easily
I made a appointment to take it in on saturday, I'll update with the results afterwards. The car is a 06 and has 20k miles. It just seemed weired the way all the lights were flashing and staying on.
Lexus seems to be great on battery replacement, took in my RX about a month ago with 35000 miles and apparently it failed the load test and was replaced free of charge.
