Default Disappointing Performance on Run Flats

Last weekend while on the highway traveling about 55 MPH i felt a bump, not a hard bump, but a bump non the less. The next day i happened to glance at the wheels and noticed a gash about 3 inches long on the sidewall of the Front driver side. Seeing this i knew the tire would need to be replaced. The tire still had pressure so i knew i could get another day out of the tire. On the way to the tire shop my low pressure light came on. by the time i got to the shop the tire was literally shredding. they did not have any dunlops in stock and my tire was useless. so i had to purchase the cheapest tire they had and order a new dunlop.

My point is, why do i need run-flats that they claim can be ridden on for 50 or so miles if theyre gonna shred like mine did.

sorry for the rant just my two cents

Indeed, run flats are crappy, border line a scam. I believe it is best to have "real" tires and a can of foam for emergency fix...

Agree wholeheartedly on the tires...

But hold off on the can of foam . It will ruin your tire pressure sensors.
