Default Door locking problems with my lexus.

I cant figure out what's is wrong with my Lexus doors. The key fob unlocks three doors except one. The key fob doesn't lock the doors. The interior lock switch on the driver side doesn't lock or unlock the door. I can only lock doors if i use the key. My alarm stopped working. Does this have to do with the door actuator or something else. Where are the fuses located for all the doors.

Please search the forum...there is plenty of information on this topic as it's a very common issue with the 2gs.

The culprit. Door actuator (the yellow part). Don't pay $140 for a Lexus one though (unless you want). I got mine on Amazon for about 30 bucks and has been working fine.

Just a word of caution for those that find this thread. There are allot of bad knock off actuators sold on Amazon and Ebay. Again this something that has been well documented in these forums. It's not to say that you can't get lucky, or maybe like me and many others who got bad parts that will give you endless headaches in the long run. Just a word of caution.

To add to this, there are a couple of sellers on eBay who rebuild OEM actuators and provide lifetime warranties if you return your old OEM cores. They're not dirt cheap like aftermarket units, but they're affordable compared to new OEM ones. I went this route for my front driver side after picking up a couple of front actuators from the junkyard and later finding out only the passenger side worked. Prior to all this, I had purchased a set of four aftermarket actuators, but the white plastic lever on the fronts wouldn't clear the metal bracket after screwing the assembly back together. Even after shimming the brackets for clearance, they still double-locked with the door lock switch and wouldn't work with the key fob, so I gave up on them. The rears were perfectly fine though.

There's also an 81-page DIY thread that shows you how to rebuild the OEM actuators yourself by replacing the motor and cleaning and re-greasing the inside of the plastic housing.

Or you can buy the motors on eBay and the little gear puller and rebuild them yourself
