Default Door locks not working

Hi everyone. I’m new to this forum thing. I have a 1999 GS 300 and the locks are not working. Can all the actuators go bad at once and is there a way to test which one is bad or any ideas on how to fix? Thanks!

Look up door actuators on the 2gs forums, this problem has been talked through quite a bit

It is most unlikely that all of the actuators have failed. I suspect that maybe the battery in your remote needs replacing. Have you tried operating the ignition key in the driver's door lock which should secure all doors? This will give a clue to what's wrong.

With the remote you can hear it try to lock but will not. If you use the key in the door sometimes it will lock one or two or all or none but the one with the key. Same when you try to unlock with the key. Is there a way to check which one or is it best to just replace all? I have tried the sit in the car and manually unlock all doors and try to lock with the lock button, nothing same when trying the unlock. Thanks for all the input!

Understood. First thing is to check your car battery voltage with the engine off. If it is 11.5 +, that's fine. If it is under 10 then this is the likely culprit.

This advice does come from experiencing the same issue!

Does your car start up fine? Yes? Then lock the door with the door switch. Do they lock? No? Then those are the one with the bad actuator. If one of your door lock actuator are bad, they will click twice. Ez.

Unlikely, but it does happen. All of mine failed at the same time.. well, within a few days of each other.
