Default Quick question about the power button

When launching the car in 4th gear with the pwr button engaged does that defeat the point of it? I'm not sure if i'm describing correctly but would just leaving it in drive provide better results?

Default

PWR mode downshifts to the lowest possible gear possible, instead of just one gear like in ECT mode.

It also holds the revs at redline for a tad longer as well
