Default Downshift question?

I have a 07 IS350 with about 23k and was wondering if other drivers get a harsh downshift when coming to a quicker stop? I drive the car with the power button on if that changes things. Thanks

When braking hard in ECT PWR the trans kicks the gears down aggressively, its normal. It does this so that when you get back on the gas, the revs are up and more power is available. If you dislike it, try braking more gently or disable ECT PWR

If you dont want that hard downshift, leave it in S mode and it wont do that. For example my friend lives on a huge hill. When i leave his place there is a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. In the past, this is where my car just does a hard down shift when im coming to a stop. So now when i leave his place i leave it in S mode (6th) and when i come to a stop it does not downshift hard.
